Ethics & Welfare

To all South East Region Clubs

In accordance with the British Gymnastics Child Protection Policy and the regional development plan for Child Protection, we have delivered a comprehensive programme of CP workshops. All clubs have at least least one Club Welfare Officer, and the majority of Welfare Officers have completed the Time To Listen workshop as is required. As we now move into phase 2 of our regional CP development plan, I would like to thank everyone who has supported the work of the last 18months - 2 years, and would like to welcome Kathie Cleal as our new regional Welfare Officer who will lead the programme into phase two. Along with Kathie, there will be 2 - 3 Welfare Officers from each county who together will form a county/regional team, supported by the Development Officers (myself and Andy Piekarski). We hope to develop Club W/O networking and have been running Welfare Officer Forums periodically within the counties. Feedback from these has been very positive.

As part of the annual regional affiliation process, clubs will be required to update their Club Welfare Officer Record Sheet. The Club W/O Record Sheet will be available on the regional website so that clubs can notify Kathie of any changes as they occur during the course of the year.

Please return Club W/O Record Sheets via email to Kathie Cleal: - kathie.c@boltblue.com
or send to: Kathie Cleal. 4 Beltinge Road, Herne Bay, Kent, CT6 6DB Phone: 01227 367047

Yours sincerely
