All British Gymnastics Coaching Qualifications are approved by the Qualification and Curriculum Authority (QCA).

The British Gymnastics coaching structure changed in January 2007 to that now published as Cycle 6.

There are six levels of coaching qualification:

1. Level 1 - Assistant Coach - To assist in the preparation of participants at foundation level under the direct supervision and guidance of a more qualified coach. The minimum age for the ACC course if 16 years.

2. Level 2 - Coach - Minimum level of qualification required to take responsibility for a class. Must confirm programme of work with a L3 or higher coach. Minimum age 18 years.

2. Level 3 - Club Coach - Minimum level of qualification required to take responsibility for a club. Minimum age 18 years.

3. Level 4 - Senior Coach.

4. Level 5 - High Performance Coach.

6. International Performance Coach.

The various levels of qualifications are available in the following contexts:

  • Women's Artistic Gymnastics

  • Pre-school Gymnastics

  • Rhythmic Gymnastics

  • Aerobic Gymnastics

  • Trampolining

  • Acrobatic Gymnastics: Pairs & Groups Tumbling

  • General Gymnastics including Floor & Vault awards

  • Double Mini Trampoline

Add-on Modules are offered in gymnastics and trampoline. These include:

  • Disability Gymnastics

  • Disability Trampoline

  • Pre-school Gymnastics and Movement

BRITISH GYMNASTICS JUDGING QUALIFICATION
The titles, the structure and level of content of the judging awards have been standardised, where possible, across each discipline of the sport. The following is a broad outline of the judging award scheme.

THE STRUCTURE OF JUDGING AWARDS:
In Gymnastics there are four levels of judging in each of the disciplines: Men's Artistic, Women's Artistic, Rhythmic Gymnastics, Acrobatic Gymnastics (Pairs and Groups and Tumbling), Aerobic Gymnastics, Team Gym. Trampoline has 6 levels.

Club Judge: To Judge at Club competitions

Regional Judge: To Judge at Regional and County competitions

National Judge: To Judge at National competitions

Brevet Judge: To Judge at International competitions
